One of the world's most iconic hotels, to stay at Claridge's in Mayfair is a bucket list experience...

Claridges, London

Claridge’s is a home away from home for the world’s jet set. Speak to any well-seasoned luxury hotel goer and they’ll tell you the same thing-  it’s worth every penny. What makes it special, and has loyal customers return again and again, is the flawless service, attention to detail and the illustrious history- some even referring to it as an “annexe to Buckingham Palace”. Open since 1812, it’s always attracted fashionable high-society, royalty, Hollywood starlets, diplomats and so on. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert stayed in 1860, Audrey Hepburn was a regular and Diane Von Furstenberg says it’s her favorite hotel. Don’t miss grabbing a martini in The Fumoir Bar, sitting only 12 people it remains wonderfully old-world in feel.

ROOMS:  200
BUILT: In 1898 by George Trollope & Sons, Claridge’s remains a Grade II listed building.
INTERIORS: One of the finest examples of 1920s and 30s Belle Epoque & Art Deco architecture.
GO FOR: The exceptional service that most people fall in love with Claridge’s because of. A Japanese pop star who stayed in the hotel wanted to have a Jacuzzi in her room, so the hotel ripped out the existing bath and installed the new tub for her.
