A stunning and dramatic beach in Malibu with photoshoot worthy scenery...

El Matador State Beach, Los Angeles

Six miles north of Malibu, El Matador State Beach is easy to miss. Signaled only by a small brown sign, off the Pacific Highway, you’ll find a series of small cliff-foot beaches with a spectacular shoreline that imprints upon your memory forever. A favorite with photographers (we’ve Pinterest boarded some of our favorite ever above), who often hold photo shoots amid the jutting rocks and crashing waves, it is only accessible via a steep stairway – but it’s definitely worth the trek, even though you may want to bring sensible shoes.

OPEN: 8AM – Sunset
LOCATION: Pacific Coast Highway
ACCESS: Hike down a 150-foot bluff
PARKING: Limited or available on Pacific Coast Highway
