With its whimsical decor, Sketch is loved by London's fashion-set and makes for a fanciful backdrop for afternoon cocktails and cake...

The Gallery, Sketch, London

The Gallery at Sketch’s exuberant powder pink color scheme helps visitors to feel as if they’ve stepped into another Alice in Wonderland style world, which could quite possibly be made of marshmallows. A favorite haunt of the international fashion set, if you haven’t come across this room on Instagram, you might possibly need an eye-test. The modern furnishings and high-impact art are signature of designer India Mahdavi, who’s work can also be see in the ultra luxe L’apogée Hotel in Courchevel 1850 (2013), and was responsible for revamping the space in 2015. Open for both dinner and afternoon tea, book in for a quirky experience and an exceptional pink selfie (don’t worry everyone else is doing it too).

GO FOR: Afternoon tea £59 per person, which includes free refills of sandwiches, pastries & teas.
ART FACT: 239 David Shrigley pieces line the walls.
FASHION FACT: Waiter’s uniforms were designed by British fashion designer Richard Nicoll.
INSIDER’S TIP: Don’t miss the famous space-age egg bathrooms.
