For many people Washington-DC’s Library of Congress is the most beautiful building in the city. Housing more than 130 million books, it spreads out across three buildings on Capitol Hill, the most breathtaking is the original: the Thomas Jefferson Building. Inside you’ll find perfect copies of the Giant Bible of Mainz (the last hand written bible before the printing press) and the Gutenberg Bible (the first bible printed using the printing press). Hop on a guided tour – there’s numerous ones a day.
