A prime location...

The Aviary, New York

Perched high over Columbus Circle, in the floor-to-ceiling windowed lobby of the Mandarin Oriental hotel, The Aviary offers 180 degree city views and an unforgettable fine dining experience. The menu is masterminded Grant Achatz and his troupe of experimental cocktail-makers and innovative cooks have taken what made his famous Chicago bar (also called Aviary) the talk-of-the-town to NYC. It’s not cheap but the dramatic ‘weirdly reimagined’ presentation is worth it. At Aviary, they play with smell and taste- The Wake and Bake cocktail incorporates the smell of a fresh NYC bagel, while gin-and-tonics arrive neon and nuclear-looking. Go for a beautiful location, great ambiance and one-of-a-kind style dine.

LOCATION: The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Columbus Circle on the hotel’s 35th floor.
RESERVATIONS: Yes, it’s pretty easy to get a reservation for two (unlike Chicago where it is practically impossible).
INSIDER’S TIP: Call in advance and request a window-side table for best views.
