The new ‘fine-casual’ restaurant trend, Uovo in Santa Monica is an intimate eatery that takes pasta very seriously. Co-founded by two of the Sugarfish owners, it serves traditional handmade pasta- made in their kitchen in Bologna, Italy, and then flown overnight to LA. About as authentic Italian as you can get- the menu is quite traditional and everything we tried was cooked to perfection. Dimly lit, in the heart of Santa Monica, it’s the perfect insider’s shopping pitstop for lunch with a girlfriend or an intimate date night place.
