After almost 18 months of renovations, the former couture house of Yves Saint Laurent re-opened as a museum in October 2017. Across the road from the Seine, in the shadows of the Eiffel Tower, the elegant 19th-century mansion house setting is a beautiful tribute to the man who was sacked by Chritian Dior and then went on to change the way women dress forever. It was a dream concept bought to life by Pierre Bergé, former chief executive of Yves Saint Laurent and his longtime lover, who sadly died 5 weeks before the museum opened. INSIDER’S TIP: Buy a ticket in advance and go early- the small space was not made for crowds and it can get a little stifling.
